We Are The Animal Kingdom

A flutter of wings,
A flick of a tail,
A lion king,
A zebra's trail.

The bark of a dog in the late afternoon.
The howling of the wolves at the night's full moon.
The slither of a snake as it moves through the grass.
The sigh of the deer as it's safe at last.

A stampede of antelope through the savanna.
A dingo stalks the small goanna.
A swarm of bees finds the flowers.
A rat climbs the tallest towers.

We are many, yet we are one.
We will fight until it is done.
We cannot be heard, so scream for us.
We are the animal kingdom and you need us.

Global warming

In case you haven't noticed, global warming is majorly affecting the way that the earth works. It is affecting plants, animals species and ecosystems and the human civilisation Is increasing the rate that global warming is occurring. Global warming is a natural thing but human waste is speeding up the process. The everyday items hat we use such as cars, buses, planes, trains, all manufactured items etc produce greenhouse gases and use vital non-renewable fossil fuels. These greenhouse gases are quickly deteriorating the ozone layer. This lets more ultra violet rays from the sun reach the earth. These ultra violet rays are warming up the earths temperature and it's killing many species if plants and animals everyday.

The thing that scares me most about global warming is the fact that no one seems to care that we are killing millions if species and if they do care no one is doing anything about it! People now-a-days just care about looks, clothes, how much stuff they have and money. Do you see deer worrying about money problems or koalas driving their cars around? No. Because they are animals and they don't care about the stupid little things that humans stress about everyday. I think its beautiful that they all live in one giant ecosystem were their biggest worry is where the nearest watering hole is! Human civilisation has become corrupt. We stress everyday about things that don't matter and things that one the end aren't really going to make any difference.

We only care about things like money, clothes and looks and we aren't fully appreciating the beautiful world that we live in! We are killing it because we want a better car and better clothes and better hair products and better sunglasses! They all produce greenhouse gases when they are manufactured! I just want someone to create something that will stop this! Where people can have what they want but we can also keep our beautiful environment because once it's gone it's gone forever and there's no getting it back...

A Bug's Life

I was lying down in my garden before and I was just watching everything.... From the birds to the trees to the rabbits to the insects and I realised how amazing nature is. I mean insects have these tiny and fragile wings that allow them to soar through the air. Their wings are able to support their body weight and allow them to travel anywhere they want with just a simple flutter of these tiny and weightless wings.

My attention was focused on one dragonfly in particular. It amazed me how it's body was supported by its tiny and fragile wings. It was able to turn so swiftly and majestically. It was fast and agile. I thought this was one of the most amazing things that nature  has done. Birds and insects have been able to do what human kind had thought was impossible for billions of years longer than we have.

Another insect that amazes me is ants. As annoying as they can be they are actually really amazing insects. Most ant species have terrible eyesight or are completely blind and yet everyday they are able to find food, shelter, water, prey, predators and after hey have done all of this they manage to find their way back to their nest! They do all this by using pheromones to communicate with each other and other insect species.

Pheromones are the scent that ants release it tell other ants where a food or water source is or to tell other insects that this is their territory. The pheromones are left in the soil, sand, dirt etc sheer there nest is. The ants all follow these trails and if something is to happen to this trail then the ants get confused. I wanted to see if this was true so I got some baby wipes and found an ant trail. I used a baby wipe to remove some of the pheromones from the path they had in the concrete. At first the ants were really confused and started moving in random directions until one of them ventured into the unknown and found the pheromone trail again. The other ants then quickly found the trail and were back on their way to where ever it was they were headed.

It amazed me that they had no clue where they were going and completely freaked out. It amazed me that they rely entirely on the scent that other ants released. It proved to me that insects are one of the most amazing of all creatures.

Just a bit about me!

I love animals. From cats to dogs to snakes to koalas to water dragons to even the random little bugs that you see flying around in summer. I love all of them and I always have. Ever since I was little I've been interested in why they are here, what they do and how they work. I've spent more than my fair share of time with animals and I still don't think I could ever get enough of them!

I was recently told that I spend way too much time talking about them and decided that rather than blabber on about everything I know about them I would share all my thoughts and opinions with random strangers on the internet! I've never had a blog and I'm really excited to finally having one!

So here's the honest truth...

1. I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to put in this blog other than some quirky stuff that I find       about animals :) I'll develop my blogging skills over time so hopefully it will all turn out alright.
2. I'm a teenage girl so I'm probably going to be a bit quirky and cliche some of the time but I'm usually pretty normal.
3. I want to be able to write better after having this blog. I also want to develop my knowledge and passion for animals through the comments I receive and through what I post.
4. I'm super excited to hear your thoughts on how I do (please be nice) I'm always open to your thoughts and opinions on how I can develop! If you find anything interesting or weird or slightly abnormal please feel free to share!

I'm really excited to have created this blog and I hope you find what I write about interesting!
